Overview

The latest addition to the TJ flute family is a very free blowing TJ Grenadilla (African Blackwood) piccolo with a Mopane (Rosewood) head and a silver-plated mechanism.

High Wave headjoint: A Wave headjoint profile is carved with a slightly higher front wall & lower back wall for easier control over dynamics and a more focused lower register. The High Wave features an even higher headjoint front wall which deflects a greater amount of air, resulting in a freer blowing experience.

It is not always easy for flute players to transition to playing the piccolo, so the Trevor James wooden piccolo has been designed with ease of playing and quality of sound production as it’s primary focus. The headjoint has a reformed embouchure hole to give added focus to the sound along with tonal warmth and freedom of dynamic range.
