Yanagisawa UK welcome Robert Finegan to their artist roster

Yanagisawa Saxophones UK is delighted to welcome twenty-year old Irish saxophonist sensation Robert Finegan to their artist roster.
Robert plays Yanagisawa SWO37 Soprano, A9930 Alto, TWO20 Tenor and B991 Baritone saxophones with a range of Vandoren reeds.
Beginning his musical journey at the age of eight with the Ardee Concert Band, Robert was awarded a scholarship from St. Peter’s Male Voice Choir to study at DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama where he currently studies music performance with Kevin Hanafin. During his time at DIT, he has been awarded with a School of Excellence Award and was the winner of the Macardle Young Classical Musician Award in 2014.
Robert has continued to amass an impressive list of awards and achievements that include 2nd prize in the Irish Freemasons Young Musician of the Year as well as winning the inaugural Flax Trust Music Award in 2017. He was a finalist in the prestigious RDS Music Bursary and was selected to perform at the ESB Feis Ceoil Gala Concert in the National Concert Hall, Dublin as well as the Rising Stars Concert in the University Concert Hall, Limerick.
April 2017 saw Robert make his Concerto debut, performing Jacques Ibert’s ‘Concertino da Camera’ with the DIT Symphony Orchestra conducted by David Brophy.
Robert will represent Ireland at the 2018 World Saxophone Congress in Zagrab, Croatia in July.
